REPORTING FUGITIVE DUST OR OTHER CEMENT PLANT CONCERNS

1. Call CEMEX at 303-823-2131.

Record what the company officials tell you.

The controller should fill out a short incident report. They do return phone calls.

2. Call 303-441-1147, Gabi Hoefler, at the Boulder County Health Department when you see the problem first occurring.

Leave a message that you reported an incident and that the controller at CEMEX wrote up an incident report.

If an inspector is in the office, he(she will respond. No answer--call back later.

Examples of what to report to the Health Department

1. Off property transport of dust--wind or non-wind conditions.

2. Exact location--time--duration of oft property dust (record multiple incidences) i.e., haul roads, from truck load, from pit, from mining, etc.

3. Direction of wind.

4. How hard is wind blowing?

5. Dust from conveyor belts?

6. Dust from plant processing operations (stacks, buildings)?

7. Dust from uncovered trucks (loads have to be covered -rule)

8. Hot Line applies to violations involving Golden, Western Mobile, etc.
